Requiem once again removed us from this pitiful existence…The unrelenting hymn of the end times, devastated all in its wake. Thank you for showing us the light….
As for other news, Let’s Make a Horror Movie is slated to complete shooting by months end…And Then I Helped will also soon be wrapped with shooting by the end of October…Looking forward to a Halloween time premiere of the Horror Movie…
Let the good times groove. Listen to Requiem, eat maggots and run daily…
Many great bands…many I’ve only heard of how amazing they are. Then of course, David Graham will be unleashing new Requiem material. Be warned, I think it’s going to get rough…
This is Requiem’s first live performance since we shot the one for the Horror Movie. Ironically, Hollers is one of the venues we considered for filming. It’s only going to add to the surreal experience…as it’s something that could’ve been and now is….Sometimes fate brings amazing things. This is one of the best ways to celebrate Lets Make a Horror Movie coming to a close….and now we get to live out those moments, Sunday evening.

The Hung By a Thread odyssey is living up to its name. It continues to get too big for its britches. Aside from having three features stem from it, now we’ll have two anthologies as well. Alan Rowe Kelly is releasing A Far Cry From Home along with some hidden surprises that await… Tyler Tharpe’s Bowling Night and magGot’s Let’s Make a Horror Movie will be released as a double horror-thon. Both are nearly completed, it’s been a long ride…but when so many other films have birthed in the process, it’s been well worth the investment.
Here’s to the new year,
…bleeding life into the digitally enhanced celluloid like process.
I first met Ben Tatar on a theatre production, his acting was intensive and moving. Every night I’d apply his makeup and the more I knew, the more I wanted to know. He’s had an amazing career, from being both Jacky Gleason and Ava Gardner’s personal assistants to having his own dubbing studio in Madrid, Spain. I immediately showed him the first cut of A Tribute to Sanity, later asking him to be in a pivotal scene for the film. He was genuinely supportive of what I was doing and we would stay in touch. I’ve known Ben for six odd years and I’ve worked with him on everything I possibly could. He’s been an enormous inspiration, sharing his abundance of wisdom and experience. I can say that he’s easily one of my best friends. Everyone that meets him is moved and now anyone can have some hands on insight of one of the most amazing individuals I know. The current issue of Ultra Violent magazine (uvmagazine.com) features a terrific interview with Ben by Art Ettinger. Check it out, there’s also mention of the Hung By a Thread antics, …And Then I Helped and The Bloodshed . There’s a sexy pic of Nikki magGot on location during Art Ettingers visit to …And Then I Helped. A thank you goes out to Art for doing such a detailed interview, Ben deserves to be recognized.
Here’s footage from one of the cameras on the “Let’s Make A Horror Movie” shoot at the smiling moose. All Things at this show were M Kadath with guest vocalist Atsiluth (Delien, God and His Bitches). Blood is courtesy magGot. This camera angle was shot by Brandon Kelly.
Sound could be better but I think it was just plain too loud for the on-camera mics.
We’re hosting a shoot/live music craziness at the Smiling Moose on Saturday the first at 3pm. It’s early, so it’s free. Not only do you see a show featuring Blasting Caps and magGot Films’ own Requiem and All Things, all present will be extras in Let’s Make a Horror Movie. The Moose is on the South Side.
The freshly completed feature film, 10 years in the making… the newly renovated magGot piece is here to squirm and repulse. It started at art school and it’s here to finally be seen for what it was…”I Never Left the White Room” is the new magGot vision from afar. The film that introduced the elements that are magGot films trademark themes. A screening is planned once time allows, it’ll also be available very soon…
For now, we’re working on wrapping up “Let’s Make a Horror Movie” the new entry for the “Hung By a Thread” anthology. Twenty minutes are already cut and we’re nearly wrapped with shooting.
Tyler Tharpe’s (Hung By a Thread, Freak) “Return in Red” will be screening at the Fantasia fest, a teaser for “Hung By a Thread” will play prior to the film. If you haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing “Return” jump to your video store and sink your orbits into a brooding journey…
